I was looking for a set light top / heavy bottom that could come close to the sound of NYXL sets, and this one is pretty damn close! Only downside (or a plus side of NYXL) is that these don't last as long as NYXL. But since these are two times cheaper than NYXL, I think it's a pretty good deal!
So, I play in D standard tuning, and these are according to that tuning:
Sound, they are among the best sounding strings I know. Very clear bright top end, and tight low end. They do seem to have a bit of a mid bump, but nothing too insane, and it's really very helpful when recording quad track guitars in a really heavy metal mix, I can notice the difference really well.
Intonation wise, they do need just a tiny bit more time to get stretched into staying in tune compared to NYXL, but these hold tuning really well. And the intonation decay after playing these for two-three days is really low! That means that the string and the tone played is in tune longer and doesn't begin to drop immediately. Great for recording sessions where it's important to have everything in tune all the time!
Overall, until NYXL offer light top / heavy bottom set, these are my main strings for time to come!
