Good to balance out sets!!
I usually choose a .015 to replace the third string on a 9s set (second string too, always!!, with a .012) and also for the second string in 11-56 sets. This makes for a more balanced top end, though I for the 9s I sometimes only replace the second and keep the .016 for the third.
For people looking to have more consistent tension in the top strings (especially for bends, but also tonally) this is something worthwhile trying.
Similar approach (depending on the guitar and scale lenght) for a set of 10s... replace the .017 with a .016 and the tonal jump between 2nd and third strings is more subtle.
