Erica Synths Drum Synthesizer LXR-02

This is one of the best drum machines if you are into hard techno, or any other music with aggressive drumming. It sounds amazing. However, if you want use it in other way, it might be challenging to find clean percussive characters for your music. But if you wanna be aggressive, wow! You should definetely give it a try!

It doesn't take much time to get used to the interface however if you want to play it live, you need to get fast and memorize everything like how it goes with other complicated groove boxes.

I love morphing which is an amazing feature that allows you to hunt sounds, and create unique moments during your sets . Modulators and LFO's allow you to go so deep in desiging sounds.

Another great feature is midi capabilities. You can control almost every parameter of this device through midi. You can even make it a part of your installation and use it as a sound engine controlled through any DAW or audio programming environment.

Would be nice to have different color of lights for different indication levels. Because, its confusing that you don't know which track you are editting while you are in performance mode.

Also, I think it would be really nice to able to send each track to different or multiple FX units.

The sounds that can be created from the six voices are good. While there is a good enough and enjoyable range of parameters for each sound, it does tend to limit itself to an edgy and sometimes metallic sound. You may or may not like this. The four mono outputs make this device convenient to add to a mixer, but these outputs are noisy. It sounds like digital noise, reacting to operations or display on the device. I can take it but it is annoying.

The UI is ok. I don't understand why the Shift button is all the way to the left with the only usable Shift functions all the way to the right. This is not good UI/UX! The Load and Save buttons are close to the Load and Save functions but these do not have any kind of marker or shade like the Shift functions do with the black text on white background.

I like the sound enough to tolerate the UI

Pros:
- very deep synth engine with lots of parameters
- exceptionally good sounding
- sliders!
- morph feature

Cons:
- some software bugs and glitches even after updating to the latest version
- four main encoders are pretty stiff and resistant to my taste, and sometimes changing the parameters even when untouched (probably also a software bug)
- a lot of menu diving, tons of Shift parameters

Overall, great sounding digital drum synth. Some software bugs are irritating but not critical. The sound is fantastic though.

P.S. Unfortunately, it arrived as B-stock (while I ordered a new one). Happened to me for the first time (ordered a lot of stuff from Thomann before) and hopefully not gone happen again.

well. yea. its the bees bendy bits. Can be temepermental. You have to very strict with its diet and no tv after bedtime. Sounds unreal. Built very well. Nothing broke yet. and if it does and its my fault, im buying a new one. kicks that rival Jomox , easily make 909 stuff. can do all kinda weirdo stuff with lfos and filters and probalitiy and well its just class. I use mine damn near everyday. Bad things: ...hold on... can glitch sometimes. Turn on and off and its grand.
Good: eh..the sound? Looks pretty cool red digital read out and a very nice knob to play with. I like a good knob.
Can it do other drum sounds? well its built to be a techno machine. if you want other sounds go elsewhere.
