Fishman Triple Play Express

Pues siempre había querido poder enviar MIDI con mi guitarra, ya que trabajo con sintes y tener este tipo de expresión me ha parecido de lo más interesante. También tienes trucos como 6 canales por cuerda, con lo que puedes hacer cosas muy interesantes con esto.

Lo bueno: apenas tienes que hacer nada "permanente" en tu guitarra. Así que si cambias de hacha habitual, es fácil y no dejas agujeros en ella. La sensibilidad y los trucos que trae son muy chulos para asegurarte que suenas, dentro de las limitaciones de la tecnología, que tus líneas suenan bien.

Lo malo... es que solo habla el canal 1 y es USB-MIDI sí o si. En mi caso, con una HxMIDI de CME, tengo salida a MIDI DIN-5 y un mapeado para cambiar el canal MIDI por el que habla. Si tienes un setup de MIDI de cierto tamaño, esto es importante. Ojalá una actualización permita cambiar eso.

El montaje es relativamente sencillo, en el caso de tune-o-matic es poco invasivo y se puede retirar en cualquier momento, en otros pasos y que pegar el zocalo de la pastilla hexafonica al cuerpo de la quitarra. El sistema no es voluminoso. (importante: en guitarras con puentes tipo Ibanez Gibraltar o similares, que obstaculicen el espacio junto a la sexta cuerda/selleta, choca el cable contra el puente y yo diria que no hay forma de ponerlo).
El funcionamento ha sido mejor de lo que esperaba ya que, pese a la problematica que existe para este tipo de dispositivos a la hora de convertir el sonido a notas midi, lo hace con bastante limpieza y sin molestas latencias. Tengo otros sistemas de este tipo (Sonnuus o Roland GK convirtiendo a midi) y este es el primero que veo usable y util.
Nota para fishman: estaria bien que venieran por separado los anclajes y asi poder tener preparadas varias guitarras entre las que intercambiar el sistema aprovechando que tiene esa posibilidad)

Though not without its flaws, this is a great tool for those guitar producer who want to speed up their workflow and explore new creative horizons.

I never expected it to be perfect and to track notes like a midi keyboard, but for the price it's really amazing. Being able to instantly add synth sounds into a song without switching over to a keyboard and killing your creative momentum is a game changer (im bad at playing keyboards).

Im using a M1 Macbook with Ableton Live. When it comes to software it just works perfectly out of the box and the amount of options available is truly amazing.

Now here's a detailed rant about the main issue specific for me:
The bridge on my guitar (off-brand strat) was set too low so the pickup didnt initially fit under the strings. The solution for this was raising my bridge and therefore string action to almost unplayable height. Im guessing this can be remedied by changing the neck angle by placing a shim under it. I alredy ordered one but it hasn't arrived yet so I don't yet know if this is an effective workaround.
This also effects the midi tracking because the strings are still a bit too close to the pickup so even at the lowest sensitivity it can get too sensitive.

Other than that, this is a great tool for creative guitar players with at least some experience in music production. It's crazy to me that this is more or less the only option out there at this price range.
