Friedman T-7020 Head

Estoy muy satisfecho con este ampli.
-El Friedman Hunt y el Friedman 7020 tienen el mismo precio pero el 7020 es mucho mejor. Tuve miedo porque no encontraba comentarios en los foros del 7020 y comprarlo parecía arriesgado pero acerté. La diferencia son LOS CONTROLES que tiene el 7020 (y no los tiene el Hunt.): FAT, SAT , VOICE y GAIN-CUT. Notaréis diferencias según la guitarra tenga Humbuckers o Single. Probado con Les Paul y 335:
*Canal CLEAN: soberbio, similar a mi Fender Deluxe Reverb.
>con Humbuckers tendrás que poner el Bright a la dcha para mas brillo
>con Singles sonará mejor en el centro o a izda.
Defecto: sería mejor un control TONE que el bright de 3 posiciones: puede se preciso bajar el brillo con el potenc Tono de la guitarra para que suene mejor.
*en el Clean, poniendo el FAT del 7020...¡GANAMOS OTRO CANAL!. El limpio es más cremoso ideal para Jazz o Blues. Similar al FAT del Mesa25.
*Canal DIRTY:
>se controla muy bien con el Presence y los 3 EQ
>con GAIN bajo es sonido Overdrive suave, vamos subiendo Gain y llegamos a sonido CRUNCH y al final a sonido Heavy.
*y el el DIRTY, en el 7020, si tenemos el GAIN ALTO y sacamos el control SAT (push pull) Y llega el infierno. ¡GANAMOS OTRO CANAL HIGH GAIN! que suena de muerte.
Puede que con este control compense lo que dicen algunos que el Hunt no tiene tanta ganancia como el modelo Pink Taco.
-el control VOICE no le saco utilidad y al GAIN CUT tampoco se como usarlos.
-DEFECTOS:
*canal CLEAN solo se regula con Volumen y el bright de 3 posiciones. Sería mejor un TONE o que funcionaran también en él Presenc y 3 EQ
*no hay salida auriculares y la mayor parte del tiempo vamos a tocar EN CASA. También es verdad que otros amplis lo tienen y luego suena muy bajito (Mesa 25 five) o directamente suena FATAL y no lo usas.
*NO HAY MANUAL ESPECÍFICO DEL T 7020: en la web no está el modelo y con el ampli te viene el del HUNT. Si consultas por e mail a Friedman te responde tipo telegrama sin aclararte nada. ¿para que sirve el Voice y el Gain Cut??
¡Disfrutadlo y elegid el 7020 que el Hunt es más limitado!

Have been in the market for a smaller head for more AC/DC classic style tones. I was under the impression Friedmans were like modified Marshalls but to my ears they don't sound like Marshalls at all. Lovely chimey clean sound but I didn't like the standard overdrive channel at all. It was harsh and got harsher as the volume went up. I just couldn't dial it out without making the amp sound wooly. The sat switch does what it says and gives the amp a more modern sound but you take quite a volume hit when using this feature.
Overall for the money I was disappointed, it was an OK amp but nothing great when you consider the price tag. I've since acquired a 20W Marshall Plexi and that thing is a fire breathing monster and considerably less than half the price of the Friedman. I've played a number of 20W heads, the Marshall and PRS amps just seem much louder compared to the Friedman. That's not a big thing but by the time you add the sat switch you could easily run out of juice when playing live.

What a great amp! The sound I get from this is amazing from clean, crunch up to high gain. I was slightly worried it wouldn't keep up with our loud drummer but it easily does the job, this thing gets loud. I have also used this without a speaker going direct to FOH and it still sounds great. It is expensive but if you want a small versatile amp and like the Friedman sound, then this is the one. Highly recommended.

++ Master Volume macht genau das, was man braucht - laut oder leise, ohne den Sound oder die Verzerrung zu sehr zu verändern. Hier bekommt man die besten leisen High-Gain-Sounds, die ich je gehört habe. Man braucht also keinen Powersoak.
+ Es ist ziemlich flexibel. Man kann es ohne weitere Treter benutzen. Als Plattform für Pedale auch super. Aber wenn man viele Overdrive oder Distortion Treter benutzt, braucht man die Friedman Gain Struktur vielleicht nicht.
+ Man findet schnell und einfach die richtigen Einstellungen.

Manche werden es etwas zu dumpf finden. Wenn man versucht das mit Treble und Presence zu beheben, wird es oft unangenehm spitzig. Die schönen hohen Obertöne fehlen etwas. Dafür ist das aber fast immer butterweich und angenehm. Ich sag mal so: auch Metal muss nicht unangenehm klingen ;)

An der Bedienung fehlt mir lediglich noch Gain-Cut Knopf im Footswitch, aber das Feature lässt sich auch bei Bedarf nachbauen.

Verarbeitung ist i.O., allerdings hat man schon das Gefühl dass er etwas billigere Potis hat.

Im Vergleich zu allen anderen Friedman 20 Watt Verstärkern hatte er den größten Gainbereich, die besten Features und für mich den besten Sound.

Der eingebaute (analoge?) Speaker-emulierter DI-Out finde ich im Vergleich zur AxeFx Speaker Sim ziemlich schlecht. Brauchbar, aber nicht wirklich gut. Im Notfall ist das auch gut zu haben.
