Is buying 'B' stock worthwhile
RoyC 27.10.2014
The 'B' stock guitar I ordered was described as having slight signs of wear.To me this means a small mark or plectrum marks on the scratch plate It did in fact have 2 manufacturing faults. One up the side of the neck and one around the soundhole which is not wear. If it was bought in England it would have been returned as the description is far from accurate. One of the reasons I bought it was it had a truss rod. It arrived with such a badly bowed neck that it should never have been sent out like this and was totally unplayable but I was able to correct it but where oh where is quality control with such a large company. Having set it up myself it is now ok but I shouldn't have had to do this. My advice is that for the difference in price do not buy 'B' stock as they are manufacturers seconds and for not much more you'll get a new one. You need to improve this area badly Thomann and I will certainly have second thoughts about using you again. If you do read this I would welcome your comments.
