The JBL Eon One Compact is a battery-powered PA speaker that delivers a professional-quality sound and can be controlled using the dedicated app. The speaker is also as compact and light as it is powerful, which together with its easy and intuitive operation makes it the ideal companion for singer-songwriters, solo entertainers, DJs, and fitness coaches as well as a great solution for lectures, speeches, and presentations. Its ducking function lowers the music volume when speech input is detected, so the audience will hear every word from the presenter or compère using the Eon One Compact, which can be fully remote controlled and supplied with sound wirelessly via app and Bluetooth. And an optimum sound is ensured by the speaker's integrated four-channel mixer, which also features a selection of onboard effects.

Extensive connectivity

The JBL Eon One Compact can be operated with instruments, DJ equipment, and even condenser microphones - the latter thanks to the system's switchable phantom power - and users have a choice of XLR and 6.35mm jack connections, in addition to which a 3.5mm mini-jack input is also provided for connecting smartphones and tablets. The four-channel mixer has its own eight-band EQ as well as reverb, delay, and chorus effects, and the parameter settings can be stored in the dedicated JBL app, allowing them to be recalled at the touch of a button. Up to two speakers at once can be supplied with sound via Bluetooth, a feature that makes the Eon One Compact a good solution for fitness studios and spaces in which lectures or presentations are held.

Freedom and clarity

In addition to connecting external sound sources, the JBL Eon One Compact's Bluetooth connectivity can also be used to control its entire range of parameters from up to ten metres away using the "JBL Compact Connect" app (available for iOS and Android devices). The user thus has a clear overview at all times as well as optimum freedom to move about, perfect for sports facilities and lecture rooms as well as bars and small to medium-sized events. As mentioned above, Eon One Compact's switchable ducking effect allows smooth transitions to be made between background music and speech, so awkward silences will be a thing of the past.

A portable powerhouse

Measuring just under 40cm on its longest side and weighing a mere 8kg, the Eon One Compact is an ideal choice for artists like singer-songwriters, who can easily transport it to gigs in a car or on a luggage trolley, or even take it on the train along with their guitar. The Eon One Compact housing design combines stable rubber feet, a 35mm mounting flange, and slanted front panels, so it can serve equally well as a PA or monitoring solution, and a nice extra is that the mixer displays automatically adjust to the speaker's orientation. A single battery charge will provide up to 12 hours' operation, and the batteries can be changed in a matter of seconds and recharged in just 2.5 hours. Charging is also possible during operation, and external devices can be charged from the USB 3.0 ports on the rear. This range of features makes the JBL Eon One Compact a great all-in-one solution for solo entertainers, wedding singers, and presenters - however long they wish to perform.
