Very handy, but beware of the way you handle it...

Very clean solution from temple design audio, very well thought of, but a word of advice,.... don't put it to the pedal first,... big mistake,... lock it to the board first,.. where you want it to be,.. and then press the pedal on the plate,.... maybe not an issue with the pedal that needs just one plate, but for foot controllers and for example Roland gr55 synth that I use I used 4 of those plates,.... so it is next to impossible to get it to the right spot and manage to lock it firm to the pedalboard aiming all the holes..... so as I said, first put it all to the pedalboard, lock it with the supplied screws and then press the pedal/ processor /controller to it,..... now it fits perfectly,..... I wish someone told me this beforehand... I wouldn't ruin 3 perfectly good plates trying to pry it open from the controller.
I know it is cheaper to just get hook tape and put it on the pedalboard, but this really saves time, and looks very cool and professional.

Review – Temple Audio Pedal Plates
Dener Rosa 21.07.2024
Out of the three available sizes, I consider this one the best in terms of cost-benefit. The smaller size works perfectly for standard pedals like the Boss OC-5 or the MXR M89, without the need to spend more on medium or large plates. For those looking for convenience in initial mounting, they do the job.

However, this system is far from perfect. The biggest issue is the adhesive, which often leaves sticky residue that is hard to remove when you decide to detach the plate from the pedal. This can affect the pedal’s appearance and even its resale value. Another drawback is that depending on the arrangement, using plates can actually reduce the usable space on the pedalboard, limiting layout flexibility.

Because of that, while the plates are functional, they’re not necessarily the best solution for everyone. Many users prefer alternatives like Dual Lock, industrial Velcro, or zip ties, which provide equally secure mounting but with less hassle when it’s time to reorganize or swap pedals.

Conclusion

The plates work as intended, especially the smaller ones, but they come with clear limitations. The system is convenient during installation, but not very user-friendly when it’s time to change your setup. It’s worth considering whether the initial convenience outweighs the potential downsides of adhesive residue and reduced space.

A very useful way to keep pedals attached to a pedalboard. It works not only with Temple Audio pedalboards. I personally use these plates with a Rockboard 3.1 pedalboard . and I am much more satisfied than using velcro or ties!!!
