Mit dem Control2USB stellt Behringer einen kompakten und vielseitigen Controller für das Abhören im Studio vor. Neben einem zentral angebrachten, großen Lautstärkeregler befinden sich auch eine Talkback-Funktion sowie ein integriertes, einfaches Audio-Interface mit an Bord. Es können hier bis zu drei Paare aktiver Studiomonitore über symmetrische Klinkenbuchsen angeschlossen werden, zwischen denen störungsfrei und sauber geschaltet werden kann. Zusätzlich lassen sich vier Stereosignale einschleusen. So kann die eigene Mischung individuell abgehört werden, um die größte Präzision beim erfolgreichen Mischen und Mastern zu erzielen. Dank seiner flexiblen Funktionen und seiner umfangreichen Ausstattung bewährt sich dieser Monitorcontroller in den unterschiedlichsten Anwendungssituationen.

Outstanding precision

The smooth encoder for volume control allows values to be adjusted with great precision, as the intervals between the degrees are considerably more generous than with smaller encoders. This results in a faster and even more precise adjustment of the overall listening volume, making mixing and recording (in particular) far easier. Behringer uses their own version of the Voltage Controlled Amplifier (VCA) technology, which is part of why the device is so extraordinarily precise. To enable sound reproduction that is faultlessly true to the original, the voltage that drives the amplifier is controlled directly. Two headphone amplifiers are to be found on the left side, next to the volume control, with corresponding output jacks on the front. Centrally, there are options for Mono, Mute, and Dim (-20dB). The right side is devoted to the talkback section, which can be aligned to different outputs while the corresponding buttons are held down.

Flexible functionality

The Behringer Control2USB is aimed at all mixing and mastering engineers – as well as studio owners – who value intuitive control, precision, and flexibility, while also looking for a solution for an affordable price. The Control2USB can adjust the different levels of connected loudspeaker systems individually, so that all of them play with the same volume. The talkback function, usually applied via the user interface, can also be controlled using a foot switch (sold separately). With the integrated audio interface, users can also record signals from external sources while the Behringer Control2USB is connected to a computer. For digitalising LPs, for instance, a record player can be connected on the rear side using the cinch inputs and also be grounded via a screw. With a weight of 2.4kg and a size of 39x20x8.7cm, this controller will take up a lot of space on a desktop, but even at this size, the user interface is uncluttered and easy to use..

Übersichtliche Bedienung

Eine farblich abgesetzte Leiste, die sich quer über die Bedienoberfläche zieht, sorgt für das schnelle Auffinden der Tasten, die zur Auswahl der Eingangs- und Ausgangskanäle verwendet werden. Im Eingangskanal 3 liegt zusätzlich das vom Computer zurückkommende USB-Signal an, weshalb dieser Kanal nicht aufgenommen werden kann, – so wird eine Schleife vermieden. Bei den ersten drei Eingangskanälen lässt sich die Empfindlichkeit zwischen +4dBu und 10dbV umschalten. Über den Monitor Mix Input kann das Signal der DAW analog eingespeist werden, um so die eigenen D/A-Wandler des Control2USB zu umgehen und auf bereits bestehende zurückzugreifen. Das 12-stellige LED-Meter bietet visuelles Feedback und lässt sich zwischen Eingangs- und Ausgangskanälen umschalten. Der Controller weist mit einem soliden Rumpf aus Metall und Seitenteilen aus Kunststoff eine passgenaue Verarbeitung auf.
