As a player of a guitar-like instrument with unique specifications, I needed to create my own string sets, and I chose to build mine entirely from D'Addario NYXL strings. Initially, the sound was a bit too metallic for my taste-bright and sharp, almost edgy. However, after some playing time, the tone mellowed nicely, becoming smoother without losing that essential brightness. It never turned dull, which is a rare and welcome balance.
Tuning stability has been excellent; I haven’t experienced any tuning issues despite daily use. Additionally, after a maximum of 6 months of consistent playing, there are no signs of corrosion or significant wear apart from loss in elasticity (which is to be expected) and most importantly no breaks; which speaks volumes about the durability and quality of these strings.
Overall, the NYXLs offer a fantastic combination of bright, clear tone, durability, and tuning reliability.
