Dunlop JD-4S Rotovibe

The Dunlop Rotovibe produces a sound similar to the classic/original Univibe used by Hendrix and a Tremolo effect. What is particular about it, is that it has an expression pedal which allows to change the Time period of the waves and therefore control the Rate which allows to produce different sounds.

Sound: As mentioned, its a Univibe and Tremolo. Not quiet the same original univibe style of sound, if you are looking for exactly the original univibe sound i would look somewhere else. IMO the sound is a univibe style sound which sometimes resembles a Phase or a Chorus, depending on the rate used. Although its not a clone of the pedals used by Robin Trower and Jimi Hendrix it can do similar and it sounds amazing. Of course this pedal is also used by many other Rock Stars such as Zakk Wylde, Richie Faulkner, Mike Mccready, Jerry Cantrell etc... so without surprise you hear the exact same sound on some of those artists songs.

Its without a doubt one of my favorite pedals, I love it and it will probably never leave my pedalbord. Its nice to use it with some melodies, Hendrix/Trower style riffs or spice up some solos. Of course if you feel inspired by some of the artists above look no further, this the real deal.

Again if you you are looking for a clone of the original Univibe, look somewhere else as i feel the Rotovibe sound in comparision is more subtle which on the other hand makes it great to use with overdrive and fuzz.

Its a pedal made in USA, built on the same structure as the other Wahs from Dunlop, i guess it will last a lifetime. The price has been increasing lately im not sure if worth the price being asked currently but i guess its up to you to decide.

I love the sound of it and im really happy with it.

Fabrication top et très solide.
Esthétique très sympa. La couleur rouge.
Réglages très cool, tout au pied.
Son modulable, notamment en cours de jeux.
Plus qu'une pédale, un véritable instrument.
Les possibilités sonores sont très nombreuses et intuitives.
Le chorus et le vibrato sont de très bonne qualité.
Les sons sont très variés, du "standard" au plus "space".
Couplée à une fuzz ou une octave fuzz, c'est très cool.
Idéal également pour du folk un peu psyché ou autres expériences.
C'est une pédale très sérieuse et de très bonne qualité.
Pas de surprise, mais beaucoup de satisfaction.
Le plus : les réglages au pied très intuitifs, possibles en cours de jeux.
Le moins : le prix
