Evh Striped 5150 Red

Always wanted one,so when I got the chance, I bought one right away.
Its a very nice looking guitar with the stripe pattern like Eddies Axe
from 1984.
The finish is really good,like everything on this guitar is top quality.
The sound,It sounds like the 1984 record on my 5150III combo,it has not as much output as the other striped guitars in the serie you really have to push your solos
,but it sounds much more open and crisp with tons of overtone compared to the other ones.

The guitar sounds great typical 80s vh sound. Does need setting up, truss rod adjustment intonation etc. Strings were quite high and the bridge doesn't drop right down it sits on the body not floating. Overall I'm really pleased now I've adjusted things. Delivery only took a week which is great. Thanks Thomann

Great feel and love the satin finish. It has the sound from that EVH 80's era.
Body shape and neck are responsible for the sound I specify. Different feel and tone to the normal striped editions. This one has it's own thing, even different to the 2 humbucker variants of this Baretta model.

I bought this from Thoman and it was delivered in a week, I love the sound and style of the whole guitar. If you want to learn the Van Halen songs and screams on pinch harmonics and dive bombs this will do the job. A lovely slim maple neck and great sustain from the Wolfgang pickup. What can I say - the most iconic guitar of my generation, even more so than the Frankie or the original black and white striped! This 5150 replica is superb. Fantastic neck, great pup, plays and sounds amazing. I love it. The FR whammy is just perfect and the D-Tuna is one of the greatest guitar related inventions ever. Eddie was a genius on the guitar and at the workbench!
