I wanted a Telecaster for a long time, but never truly found one that I really liked. Then the Ultra Luxe Vintage series released and this beauty caught my eye. Everything changed that very day!
Quartersawn neck for increased stability? Check!
Stainless steel medium jumbo frets? Yes Sir!
Nitro finish all over the place? Uhu!
A super playable neck profile? You got that right!
Rounded in all the right places? Well … yes. Especially it being a Tele!
Everything just feels right on this guitar and it greatly reflects in the playability of this instrument. The heirloom finish looks cool, and not overdone whatsoever. The satin finish on the neck feels smooth, and in conjunction with the D-profile and the rolled edges, makes this a real smooth player. Very thin D-shaped necks (like the Ibanez wizard) tend to cramp my hand, but that’s not the case with this guitar (which is about 20% thicker @1st and the 12th fret).
They’re not the cheapest guitars in the Fender line-up, but they feel Custom Shop quality. Well done Fender! Next in line for me is an Ultra Luxe Vintage Strat!
