Gretsch Strml Jet Clb Bass VWT

Ok, so im a beginner, 56 year old and this Gretsch is my second bass, i had a Hofner Shorty Violin Bass, also bought from this company. So my thoughts, i chose a Short scale as i have arthritis in my hands, knees and back so didn't want the extra girth and weight of a normal bass.

I chose Gretsch as i have always loved their guitars and owned previously but guitar was not for me. The price was right for me as there is no need in me spending £1000's when this Gretsch will always be enough for me in my bass playing abbilities.

I love the retro look and Chose the colour as i love the falcons and have always admired Billy Duffy and his collection. So the look, quality and feel of this bass for me is awesome, i love it and not for one second casting admiring glances at Sting Rays and Ricks, this is my bass and every time i look at it, it makes me smile.

so overall and bear in mind i am a beginner , love this bass, love the look, the feel of the fret board and most importantly the sound (i have it running ithrough a Hartke HD 15).

Now to dig the fantasy i am Mike Kerr.......

Die Bühnen, auf denen ich spiele sind sehr klein, und um den Gitarristen oder die Sängerin nicht zu köpfen, hab ich mir den Gretsch Streamliner bestellt. Außerdem stehe ich auf den Vintage Look. Als ich ihn das erste Mal ansteckte: WoW....die Pick Ups machen, was sie sollen, sehr scharf und mit der präzise arbeitenden Tonregelung einfach toll. Bin total begeistert, von der Verarbeitung und Einstellung kann ich euch nur berichten: Absolut top, Danke Thomann !

J'avais entendu beaucoup de bien sur l'ancien modèle, là, je reste un peu sur ma faim. Pour les plus : la basse est très belle, très légère, le manche court bien pratique et quand ça sonne bien le son est terrible.
Pour les moins, c'est pas très solide, ça vibre beaucoup, le son est très métallique et je pense qu'il faut vite que je change les cordes d'origine. Je pense qu'il y a du potentiel mais il faut chercher pour le trouver et pour le moment je ne l'ai pas atteint. A suivre.
