Ibanez PS60-SSL

La Ibanez PS60-SSL es una guitarra de gran relación calidad/precio: ofrece un diseño inspirado en Paul Stanley con un acabado Silver Sparkle muy llamativo, cuerpo de álamo, mástil de arce atornillado y diapasón de purpleheart con 22 trastes. Monta dos humbuckers Infinity R que dan un sonido equilibrado, con medios definidos y suficiente pegada para rock, hard rock y glam, aunque en distorsiones extremas pueden quedarse cortas (siempre es fácil mejorarlas con un cambio de pastillas). El hardware es sencillo pero fiable, con puente Gibraltar Performer y herrajes cromados, garantizando afinación estable para ensayos y directos. La construcción es correcta para su rango, cómoda gracias a la escala corta (24,75”) y el mástil delgado, ideal para tocar rápido y con facilidad. No es una guitarra “premium”, pero por su precio es un instrumento sólido, vistoso, funcional y con margen de personalización. En esta larga gira de mas de 40 conciertos venia de suplente y está jugando muchos partidos de titular. La afinación se mantiene sin problemas. Mástil cómodo. En resumen: excelente opción para quien busque una guitarra llamativa y versátil, dando grandes resultados sin gastar demasiado.

Got my guitar yesterday. Packaging was solid, no outer damage on the box. But when I opened the box and removed the plastic cover off the guitar, I was stung by a nasty scratch on the pick guard. And on an instrument that has a shiny finish like this one, this scratch is very prominent. Additionally the pickguard is sliver colour, but on the picture it´s black. I later learned that the guitar had been updated with a new pickguard. Aside from that, all knobs and toggle switch are in proper order. The neck and frets are smooth and nothing on the guitar is loose. Is sounds great and feels very comfortable to play. It was slightly out of tune, but that's to be expected having travelled from Germany to the Tundra. Highly recommend this guitar. I got bad luck with the scratch, but this is a great guitar regardless.

the ps60-ssl plays smooth. its playing is good and easy without getting the feel of losing it because of muddiness like in case of my all time first harley benton (dont know which model that was anymore) for a few bucks at around 190 euros) so for me the price range of an e guitar where to expect elementary quality or minimum requirements for a step towards advanced playing starts at around 300 to 400 euros. that s where the ps60 makes a good guitar because it hits that spot. in fact on top of the smooth playing I get a design that is gorgeous. the pictures look like the finish is mate but there s even a gloss top finish added. the sparkle design combined with gloss turns out to look even better and at this price point I didnt expect a gloss finish on top at all. the back of the neck isnt outstanding in terms of precision while holding it yet the fretboard is suitable for advanced voicings and some riffs. the action is a bit higher than in case of my other e guitars and I kept it in this position because the playing works great for a guitar this price. what stuns me is the overall design along with the top of the neck. gorgeous to make sure I dont forget it to mention. almost a bit like out of a fairytale and fallen out of time while the design appears to also be modern and man they chose the right knobs :) for creative musicians and ppl somewhere in the middle of playing skills, determined to gear up the instrument is a joy
