Let?s start saying that I do like this little pedal. Very much indeed. In addition, it looks cool to me and sounds very interesting, being really useful and expressive.
Having said that, this is a difficult unit to review. Why? Because it will NOT replace any other phaser that you might desire or have already. Is not classic, neither is radical or innovative and its main strength resides in the way is controlled (via a rocking pedal, like a wah) which even while renders the effect extremely expressive, is a radical departure from what you might expect from a phaser pedal (on/off toggle).
Changing the effects is cumbersome and could not be really done on the fly, so you will be pretty much stuck with one sound all along the gig, however chances are that such will be a pleasing sound.
So if you?re after the classic phasing washes of the Phase 90, 100, Script, Van Halen, 2 stage, 3 stage, 4 stage, Boss Ph1, Boss Ph1r and the like... look elsewhere. This sounds sweeter than some, more metallic than others, less present than all... hopefully you get the idea. However, is an interesting transition from chorus to phasing for clean sounds and the end result will be more natural than any regular phaser.
Its form factor is minimal (microscopic if folded) and is pretty solid. A blessing for most players, which may be able to add an additional sound to their palette without consuming significant real state in their pedalboards, yet somehow a curse for me with my large feet.
All in all, something that will worth your while to try. In my case, this little bastard found its way to my clean sounds, so no regrets here.
