❤️ In love with their sound at first listen!
I'm not an audiophile or an audio expert. I do work on audio content though. I've used multiple of headphones since I was a teenager (like 25 years ago?). Both studio and music listening headphones.
Something surprising (to me) happened when I first try these headphones. They sounded not only natural, but "familiar" to me. For instance, during voice recordings I felt very comfortable. It's like I recognised my own voice more than with any other headphones I've used before. Maybe because Rode knows voice processing very well, from their microphones? I don't know.
For music, I was currently using a pair of AirPods Max. You see? Not an audiophile! They sound great to me for being Bluetooth headphones. I could maybe compare the Rode and the Max (with a factor 4 price difference). The combination NTH-100 + Apple Music Hi-Res Lossless makes the difference though (advice: buy the 10€ Apple USB-C to 3,5 jack adapter). The AirPods Max, because they are wireless, are incapable of reproducing Hi-Res Lossless.
I have new headphones for all (studio + music listening)!
PS: Only think I dislike, which costed a star in Sound, is the "microphonic" cable. When you touch it, you can hear it in the wired headphone when you are not playing anything.
