Too small for stage use!

Sansamp in its well-known goodness! Anyone looking for analog simulation without digital latency will not be disappointed. My only criticism is about the shape of the thing. The manufacturer promotes it as something that is nice and small and fits in a guitar bag. However, what is the point of stuffing it in a bag? It does not run on batteries, nor does it have a headphone output. So, it is not something that you take out somewhere on a band bus or in a hotel room in the evening to practice. It always needs a wall outlet and some kind of amplifier to go with it. And since it is not something that you put in your pocket, what was the point of squeezing it into such a small box? Yes, there is never a waste of space in a pedalboard, but it could easily have been a few cm wider and the footswitches would have been actually pressable on stage, not just theoretically. The same goes for the thickness - add a cm and you could tighten the knobs to the body with a nut. Right now it feels a bit like a toy, although it is not

Erst mal die guten Seiten des Geräts:
Es wirkt sehr robust, günstig, ist sehr handlich und man kann es trotzdem gut bedienen, auch mit den Füßen. Mit dem XLR-out hat man eine DI Box mit der man direkt in ein Mischpult oder Interface gehen kann. Schön wäre vielleicht noch ein Effektloop gewesen.
Der Sound ist clean sehr gut, vielleicht ein bisschen steril, aber die Verzerrung des Amps finde ich nicht so gut. Allerdings funktionieren Pedale davor sehr gut (in meinem Fall: Zendrive, Bogner Wessex, VS Royal Flush, Zvex ´59sound). Auf den eingebauten Tube Sreamer kann ich auch verzichten. Für mich ein gutes Teil für ein Urlaubsboard oder für Leute, die gelegentlich direkt ins Mischpult spielen oder direkt aufnehmen wollen. Als Ampersatz gibt es mir zu wenig her.

Der Sound ist wirklich gut, wenn man die frühe Verzerrung der Sansamp-Schaltung mag. Regler sind wirkungsvoll, der Screamer schreit, die (offenbar identischen) Kanäle sind ziemlich blond. Aber es bleibt nie clean, zumindest mit Humbuckern; ich dachte, diese klassische Schwäche hätte der hier nicht, doch leider schon. Mein Exemplar ploppte hörbar beim Kanalwechsel, und ein Effektloop nach dem Screamer wäre schön gewesen. Den frequenzkorrigierten Output habe ich nicht getestet, der hörte sich in den Demos aber ziemlich gut an.
