the box pro Achat 115 MA MKII

The "the box pro Achat 115 MA MKII" sounds good, gets loud, and works very well with amp and cabinet simulations. For bass monitoring with IRs, it produces a clear and useful sound rather than just an impressive amount of low-frequency rumble.

Unfortunately, the input connector appears to have been designed for a world in which cables remain perfectly still. The combined XLR/TRS socket has no locking XLR latch, so when the speaker is used in its intended floor-wedge position, the cable can wiggle, twist, or move slightly and will simply unplug itself.

That is a particularly inspired design choice for a monitor wedge—an object routinely placed on the floor, where cables are stepped on,kicked, dragged, caught under equipment, and moved during setup. Apparently the solution is to ask the cable politely not to escape.

Electrically, the connector is perfectly adequate. Mechanically, it is unsuitable for this application. A proper locking XLR socket is not an exotic premium feature on professional stage equipment; it is basic mechanical reliability.

The loudspeaker itself performs well, but the connector choice seriously undermines the "pro" branding. This sort of compromise might be tolerable on basic entry-level equipment for occasional solo entertainers. On a professional floor monitor, it is difficult to regard a self-unplugging input as anything other than a design failure.

Once the warranty has expired, I may replace the socket with a proper locking XLR connector. That should not be necessary on a product marketed as professional.

Zwei Stück in Verbindung mit den pro Achat 118 A bestellt und was soll ich sagen, einfach klasse! Super Verarbeitung, stabilen und robusten Eindruck, alle Anschlüsse, die man benötigt und mit Flugschienen auf der Oberseite versehen. In Verbindung mit den pro Achat 115 M U-Bracket auch super schnell aufgebaut.
Der Sound ist klasse und für kleinere private Veranstaltung reichen zwei davon auch ohne externen Sub aus, Höhen und Tiefen klingen echt sauber. Wenns dann doch mal größer wird einfach 2 18" oder für outdoor Doppel 18" dazustellen und fertig ist, ein echter Allrounder.

Alles im allen Super Lautsprecher von denen ich nichts Schlechtes sagen kann!
