Good strings for my jazz playing
I was after strings for bow use, as I was trying to develope my technique. Previously I had the thomastik superflexible, and those sound really good but my bow didn't had grip enough, and the A was starting to give funny noises.
Surprise was that that the grip was not so much better. Sound was mellower and more beautiful than the superflexibles, but the grip was due to my not so good technique. Surprise was also that the pizzicato sound was really good in my bass, for jazz use. I know this is not the usual evaluation for these strings, but I love the jazz pizz sound I'm getting. Open, full, not old school in any aspect. If you use the right fingers in the right way, you can get a nice sound. I guess that with lower tension strings maybe you gan get more powerful sounds in thumb position, but I'm not so experinced in trying several upright basses with several string types, so this was just my guess. I just know that I'm for sure enjoying this string pack for jazz playing.

Son unas muy buenas cuerdas con una buena relación calidad-precio. Yo las tengo en mi contrabajo para tocar clásico y tienen muy buena respuesta. La verdad es que no destacan ni en calidad del ataque, de sonido ni de timbre, son bastante estándar lo que te da pie para poder buscar tú tu sonido particular. En definitiva, buena compra pero, lo dicho, si buscas un resultado sonoro en particular y tienes claro lo que buscas, otros modelos te ofrecerán algo más característico.

En general son buenas cuerdas, especialmente las cuerdas G y D (1era y 2da cuerdas), a los graves (A y E) les falta potencia y profundidad. En mi opinión las dos primeras cuerdas tienen un sonido muy bonito y con buena proyección pero los graves son prácticamente inútiles para la orquesta. Desde luego depende mucho del instrumento en el cuál se usen, pero la regla general casi siempre (al menos en mi experiencia) es que solo valen la pena las dos primeras cuerdas del set. Lo que si es un punto a favor es que duran muchísimo y están muy bien construídas.

Excelente sin complejos
Si bien, el sonido de la versión para solista me gusta aún más, la de orquesta es brillante y profunda. La única pega podría ser su baja tensión, pero no afecta al resultado final. Una maravilla

Un Lujo
Equipar mi contrabajo de concierto con estas cuerdas es realmente un lujo, logra la mayor expresion sonora d e mi instrumento, la afinacion y el balance entre cuerdas es excelente, la durabilidad, el tacto.
