I have been using cheap Chinese 5.8ghz guitar buds for my acoustic guitar. I have been very happy with them, working absolutely fine but I needed to charge them after each gigs, which could be tiresome and if you forget to charge... you are in a pickle. So I started looking at a pedal solution where I didn't have to charge both emitter & receiver all the time.
My first choice was the Boss WL50 but it's 2.4ghz, no channel scans, and the emitter is protruding quite a bit, I was afraid of "snapping"it. Plus I wasn't sure it would work with my acoustic guitar. A friend of mine has the WL60 and hates it... what was I to do...So I kept searching for the "perfect" solution, at least for me.
I had few "must have" on my list:
-a Pedal format,
-5.8ghz
-a plug in option in case the wireless fails
- USB-C
- channel scanning.

But nothing existed like this that was affordable (otherwise I would've picked the Shure Shure GLXD16+ but at €566...no thanks...). In my research, there was always a compromise. Either 2.4ghz in a pedal form or 5.8ghz in a mobile, bud type form. Clearly a gap in the market in my opinion.
And then, XVive came along with this solution : The P58!! (angels sing!)
A very solid pedal format with integrated Tuner (the screen is very big and clear), 5.8ghz with 6 possible channels scan, so you'll rarely use a crowded frequency. USB-C for fast and universal charging of the transmitter (yes I still have to charge one), the A58 mobile transmitter with channel scanning too. A jack input on the pedal, in case the wireless fails... all is here. All I wanted is here.
I haven't used it in live yet but soon, and I'll update my review after it. The only down for me is that it's a 12V pedal, not 9V like a "standard" pedal. It's not a big deal because most power bricks would accommodate for that but make sure you use the correct output or else use the provided power supply. For me it ticks all the boxes so far. We'll see how it behaves live. Thank you XVive for making this.
