Zultan 22" Z-Series Ride

On receiving the cymbal the first thing that stuck me was how much more expensive it felt and looked compared to the price and the pictures.

The play-ability of every part of the cymbal is exactly what I wanted. The tone, projection, definition all of it just works incredibly and getting volume some pro-activeness but not much effort.

I've been using it as my sole ride for around 6 months and it still looks clean and fresh and sounds as clean as the first time.

Unsere Band macht Sound in Richtung Queens of the Stoneage/Foo Fighters. Nach Jahren auf einer Sabian AA Medium Ride brauchte ich einen Tapetenwechsel. Da ich 2 Crashes der Zultan Q-Serie besitze, die wirklich toll sind, gab ich dem Zultan Z eine Chance.

Die Verarbeitung ist top. Es liegt plan auf und optisch ist es wirklich sehr schön.

Zum Sound:
Natürlich ist das immer Geschmacksache aber ich persönlich war vom Sound nicht überzeugt. Normal mit dem Tip angespielt ist der Ping laut, klar, tonal tief und durchsetzungsstark. Allerdings ist wirklich gar kein Washanteil dabei. Dadurch wirkt es für mich sehr kalt und irgendwie "tot". Da fehlen mir die Höhen. Die Bell geht in die gleiche Richtung: laut, klar aber eben etwas leblos.

Zum Ancrashen der Ride: ich denke ich bin spielerisch eher in die Ecke der Hardhitter zu zählen. Um dieses Becken richtig in Schwung zu bekommen musst du es allerdings schon so richtig peitschen. Und dann wird es laut - zu laut für meinen Geschmack.

Ob ein Becken "gut" ist oder nicht ist halt immer Geschmacksache. Meins war es nicht.
