ESI XSynth

First of all, this is an amazing synth. It is truly wonderful. But mine came with a defective B key right out of the box. The keys in general are very wobbly and have a cheap quality to them, so I’m not surprised one of them isn’t working correctly. The sound is amazing though, and this instrument has a lot of potential. Second problem which is technically worse is that with the US tariffs etc, 163 US dollars was added to the delivery cost the day after this was purchased and shipped! By then I had no choice to take back this purchase decision, and I would have never bought this if I had known I would be paying over half the cost on top. And I’ve heard that you are responsible for paying no matter what, so I won’t be buying from an overseas store in the future for a long time. At least not until I know what im actually going to be paying in advance . The shipping cost was estimated at around 25 USD at the time of purchase. Anyway lesson learned. And now I’m afraid to return it for fear I’d run into more shipping costs. So I will just live with the broken key.

Ich habe nur kurz mit dem ESI Xsynth herumspielen können. Laptop aufgeklappt, USB-C-Kabel dran, Kopfhörer in den XSynth gesteckt. In der DAW wollte das MIDI-Setup nicht sofort klappen, aber das Audio-Interface des XSynth lässt sich direkt auswählen für den Input. Und da sind innerhalb weniger Minuten schnell Tracks gelayert, die Presets lassen sich direkt oder nach wenigen Modifikationen der Effekte und Filter nutzen.
Einige Drumkits sind auch dabei, habe testweise das erste aus den Presets genutzt - das klang nicht ganz so doll, aber für mal eben so dabei ist das schon ganz ok.
Die Tasten sind für mich als Nicht-Klavierspieler sehr gut bespielbar, das klappt besser als bei mancher Minitastatur.
Muss damit noch etwas mehr spielen, um mehr Gefühl dafür zu bekommen. Aber bis jetzt macht der ESI XSynth mächtig Spaß!
