…If you have a few pedals! Guitar plugged in directly - it sounds quite sterile and bland. Don’t expect Fender Deluxe tones, it’s clearly a lot darker and lacks complexity. It’s also completely clean, but it does add a bit of compression and “snap”. It feels all right under the fingers, more than a modeler, but again, the tone is less appealing than a modeled Deluxe reverb.
Sound quality improves a lot when used with a few pedals in front. All my dirt pedals sound great with it, and you can usually compensate for the lack of brightness with the tone shaping on the pedals. It takes time based and modulation effects very well too. Sadly, the EQ spectrum is too limited for fuzz pedals. They sound ok, but without the rich overtones you get from real tube amp.
Overall I’m satisfied with the purchase and use this more than the same size modeler “One”. Mostly due to feel and simplicity to use with other pedals. I would totally buy a v2 with stereo inputs and a bright switch.
