This is the first legit Floyd Rose that I have. In my case, I have a guitar in which I requested to upgrade into a FR system. I first had one of those cheap, generic licensed bridges because it was affordable and this one was meant to be an upgrade for when I had a better budget.
Overall the system is great. The material is excellent, and there is a good feeling of solid quality to it. One of the first things that I noticed was that the open notes were more static and consistent when looking at the tuner.
I also noticed that when I came to change the tuning and string gages I did not have any issues or much more trouble into regulating and fine tuning the bridge to adapt into it.
There are couple of things that I expected to be better and it was not, however it could be also the build on my guitar that does not allow this bridge to reach its full potential.
One of these issues is that the bridge does not stays in tune after using the whammy bar, so I had the same disappointing feeling from when you use the whammy bar on a Stratocaster, for instance.
I also could not get the correct string height as I wanted. it is still played and still very good, but not quite what matches the ruler. It could also be blamed on the quality of my guitar to support this bridge still.
Nonetheless, the only real issue I found was that over 1.5 years using this bridge, I noticed that some of the screws of the saddles gotten a little rusted, other than that the bridge still looks pretty much the same as in the picture even with all the humidity and me not taking all the "proper care" for it.
With that being said, I think that this is totally worth it as an upgrade and its quality clearly stands out(except for that tiny screw).
