tc electronic Dual Wreck Preamp

El pedal funciona de maravilla, un sonido dual rectifier autentico, con dos canales y un boost. Si buscas un pedal que suene a dual rectifier es una buena opción, y con el emulador de cabina puedes tocar directamente por linea en directo. No le doy las 5 estrellas por un inconveniente que encuentro en la forma de funcionamiento del pedal, detallo: Los potenciometros recuerdan la posición a la que se ajustó al cambiar de canal, es decir, si ajusto mi canal sucio, después ajusto mi canal limpio, al cambiar de canal con el botón tendré la configuración del amplificador en la que dejé el canal sucio. Esto en principio tiene sentido ya que puedes emplear los mismos potenciometros para ahorrar espacio, no obstante al tocar en directo puede generar problemas. Estos potenciómetros se mueven con facilidad, si por error en directo le das al potenciómetro de volumen el ajuste se pierde completamente, y puede ser un gran problema... Por ello últimamente uso el mio con un único canal, como si fuera el ampli en mi pedalera pero sin el cambio de canal (con esta configuración la configuración de potenciometros es la que se ve)

Firstly I must say the red channel with boost on doesn't sound that great. For metal tones the palm mutes sound really spluttery and just don't sound right - even when paired with a tube power section it still sounds a bit off. Definitely a usable tone in a live situation but beyond that I'd not have used it.

However after watching Kohle's video on youtube I was able to get an excellent tone on par with my 5150 or any other tube amp. You need to run the crunch (green) channel, with the boost on, and a tubescreamer in front of it to get that modern metal high gain tone. Pair it with a tube power amp with a lot of presence, and a good cabinet and you will have a studio ready tone. Even sounds great with the GPA 100, just with a bit less presence.

I am totally blown away of how this pedal sounds for this price.
I have had a few Mesa in the studio to record, but they are always hard to get right.
This pedal is NOT the same, but it basically gave me the sound I was aiming for.
I have seymour duncan poweramp and that’s it. Golden.

The only thing I would have liked was the IR output to be an XLR.
The knobs are cool because they look the same as the amp, but they are a little annoying to read.

People are sleeping on this pedal. Get it!

Verführt durch gute Rezessionen und beeindruckende Youtube-Videos, wollte ich mir mit dem tc electronic Dual Wreck Preamp für kleines Geld den Dual Recifier Sound ins Haus holen. Es hat nicht funktioniert.


Andere Leute bringen offensichtlich beeindruckende Klänge aus dem Gerät, mir ist das nicht gelungen.
Ich habe das tc electronic Dual Wreck Preamp-Pedal vor diverse (Röhren-, Hybrid-, SolidState-) Verstärker gehängt, in den FX-Loop gebracht, als PreAmp benutzt, einen TubeScreamer davor gehängt (wie ich das auch beim Original gemacht hätte)..., das Ergebnis war immer ernüchternd: die Zerre oben rum nicht beeindruckend und unten rum mulmt und poltert es. Egal ob passive Humbucker, FishMan Fluence- oder EMG-Tonabnehmer. Und am Phone-Ausgang war alles noch zwei Klassen schlimmer.

Das Gerät ist solide verarbeitet, die Drehregler laufen satt, nichts wirkt billig oder zerbrechlich . Also diesbezüglich alles, wie gewünscht. Aber ich komme offensichtlich mit dem Pedal nicht zurecht.
